AncestryDNA is a DNA test that examines your unique genetic code by extracting your DNA from a small saliva sample. They use genetic science to determine family relationships within their large database of AncestryDNA members and your ethnicity origins. In English, AncestryDNA Activate is a test that tells you your nationality and matches you with other possible family members!

Activation codes have alternating letters and numbers in them and are printed on the side of the tube as well as on the instruction packet. If you don't still have the activation code, contact us to request a free replacement kit.
The activation code is what connects an AncestryDNA or AncestryHealth® kit to an Ancestry account. If an AncestryDNA or AncestryHealth® kit wasn’t activated and the code is permanently gone, we’ll need to send you another kit. Contact us to request a free replacement kit.
Activation codes have alternating letters and numbers in them. If you’ve entered three letters or three numbers in a row, check the middle character. Make sure you don’t have the number “5” entered as the letter “S,” for example.
Remove the cap and twist it on again tightly. Repeat until the blue solution releases.
Place the tube in a Ziploc bag and place the bag in the return box.
